Baseball Hall of Fame - Ford C. Frick

National Baseball President Ford C. Frick wrote, in part, in a letter to the Spalding Base Ball Guide in 1939 - a definitive source for baseball news in that era - “This is the National Game’s Centennial year, but it will not be a worthy commemoration in the fullest sense unless its influence continues on into the future. Generations to come must know that Baseball in its hundredth year had high thoughts for the future; that the anniversary observance was not only the background by a glamour history but looked forward to greater chapters still to be written, hoping to hand along the fruits of its experience as a heritage to the era yet to be.

Since Ford C. Frick’s words spoken in 1939, there has been an average of 1 major renovation every ten years for the last 70 years, which makes the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum the great institution that it is today. For a complete history of the Hall’s growth from its inception in 1939 to present check the website at www.baseballhalloffame.org. When will the next renovation be needed? The unknown future need, spawned the inception of the Legends Program, where donations of life insurance policies will help fund future building projects, as well as many unseen educational, cultural, and historical obstacles.
